About Diane [email protected]
Residing in a small town in Minnesota, Diane Knight finds inspiration from the trees and the river right out her back door. Her “doodles” are an attempt to touch the wonder of the world around and the world within. Some of Diane’s “doodles” are at the Lanesboro Art Center Gallery where her cards are also sold. To begin a ‘doodle’ she throws color onto a surface following what she sees with pens and markers. They always surprise her. She likes to combine mediums, adding clay pieces or other elements.
As a long-time visual artist, Diane has worked with clay and wood. For many years she created masks and puppets for the Masque Theatre in Rochester. She likes to bring folks into her studio and help them create with various materials.
Poetry is a recent passion for Diane. She is also surprised by where a poem begins and where it ends. As a student of Buddhism she looks for opportunities to be mindful and kind and uses her art and writing to express her personal understanding of the teachings. Her word for the year 2020 is ‘connection”.
